Palm Center Director Selected to Speak at Original Thinkers Festival, October 3-6, 2019 in Telluride, Colorado

Dr. Aaron Belkin Will Join “Change is Hard” Panel Alongside Other Social Justice Leaders

SAN FRANCISCO, CA – The Original Thinkers festival, launched last year by filmmaker and cultural entrepreneur David Holbrooke, has selected Palm Center director Dr. Aaron Belkin to be part of this year’s lineup of renowned social justice leaders.

Dr. Belkin will join the panel, Change is Hard, focusing on the urgent challenge of creating tangible, enduring social change. He will appear alongside a diverse group of leaders that include: Bonnie Siegler, acclaimed graphic designer and author of Signs of Resistance: A Visual History of Protest in America, a compendium of art that effectively shaped social movements; and Ramy Essam, whose music fueled the Egyptian Revolution and who has written songs making his home country unsafe for him.

The Original Thinkers conference brings together an assemblage of passionate, engaged, and committed stalwarts to grapple with today’s most daunting social problems, and focuses on the intersection between story and ideas. The festival features ten shows, each based around a specific idea that is examined through a curated mix of dynamic speakers, provocative art, and off-the-radar films.

The festival takes place: October 3 – 6, 2019 in Telluride, Colorado.
