Gender Identity and the Military – Transgender, Transsexual, and Intersex Identified Individuals in the U.S. Armed Forces

The U.S. military views transgender individuals as medically problematic and/or psychologically disturbed and consequently not worthy to serve in the armed forces. Individuals who identify, during enlistment phase, as trans-persons are summarily disqualified under psychiatric exclusion rules.
