SAN FRANCISCO, CA — October 23, 2014 — Currently serving transgender service members from five of the 18 foreign militaries that allow transgender service gathered in Washington D.C. on October 20 for a conference sponsored by the ACLU and the Palm Center. The conference was the first-ever international gathering of transgender military service members on US soil, and panelists included service members from Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Sweden and the UK.
